Motorola Mobility has just announced that its latest Android flagship, the Motorola RAZR is now available in Saudi Arabia.

Customers who want to purchase the smartphone can do so for no less than SR 2,499 (US$ 665 or 500 EUR) via STC and Jarir bookstores.

Although the phone is delivered with Android 2.3 Gingerbread on board, the new and improved RAZR family device has been recently confirmed for an Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade in early 2012.

Following the same design line that made the old Motorola RAZR clamshell so popular among youngsters, the Android-based device is one of the thinnest LTE-enabled smartphones at only 7.1mm.

“The new Motorola RAZR is a stunning combination of beauty and brains that meets a growing consumer need in the Middle East for smartphones that are thinner, smarter and faster. STC is proud to offer such a visionary smartphone to our loyal and valued customers,” said Eng. Ibrahim Abdulrahman Al Omar, Vice President Personal Services, STC.

Motorola RAZR is all glass and steel. It boasts a stunning 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Advanced display and KEVLAR fiber on the back.

Corning Gorilla Glass protects the screen stand up to scratches and scrapes, while every other part of the smartphone, including the electrical board inside, features splash-guard coating.

Hardware-wise, the superphone is equipped with a 1.2 GHz dual core TI OMAP 4430 CPU, a PowerVR SGX540 graphics processing unit, 16 GB onboard memory, 1 GB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

“Jarir’s success is founded on our ability to offer customers the most up-to-date and desirable products, so it made absolute sense to team up with Motorola to sell the new Motorola RAZR. This is truly a smartphone that will stand out from the crowd, and we are confident it will become a best-seller,” concluded Nasser Abdel Aziz Al Aqeel, COO, Jarir Bookstore.

The RAZR boasts an enhanced 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and autofocus, as well as a secondary 1.3-megapixel front facing camera for video calls and chats.
